Class Description:

Join us in the Port Plums Demo Kitchen as we transport you for an evening in a Parisian Bistro! We’ll discover, demonstrate, and enjoy four authentic French dishes and dessert; all of which you can easily recreate at home. Come channel Julia and Jacques with us! Complimentary wine will be offered.

Recipes Include:
Coq au Vin - Classic Chicken with Mushrooms in Red Wine
Noisette de Lotte au bacon a la Toison d'or (Monkfish wrapped in Bacon with Broccoli)
Haricot Vert (Green Beans) and Herb Salad with Homemade Vinaigrette
Poires Pochees au vin rouge au bleu d'Auvergne  (Poached Pears with Bleu d'Auvergne Cheese)
Crème Brûlée

Please note: This is not a hands-on class. In this class you will watch and interact as the instructor prepares several dishes using a variety of strategies and techniques. You will sample from generous tasting portions of the demonstrated dishes. 

Food Allergies/Restrictions: Please notify us at least 7 days in advance of the class if any food allergies or restrictions in your party by emailing info@portplums.com. We will do our best to accommodate when possible. Most classes can be made gluten-free with advance notice.


What are my parking options getting to the event?

We are located in The Tannery Marketplace at 50 Water Street, Newburyport, inside Mill Building #4 which is on the Water Street side of the complex.

Parking lot and street parking is available. When attending a class or event with us, you may park in the 15 minute parking spaces in front of the store for an extended stay.  

Is this a demo or hands-on cooking class?

This is a demonstration-based class. 

Should I eat a snack before class?

We recommend eating something before the class. Generous tasting samples will be provided during the event. 

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Yes. All students must be 18+ years old. Students 14-17 years old are welcome to participate with an adult guardian or parent. Those under 21 will not be able to participate in the wine tasting portion of our event.

Is my registration/ticket refundable or transferrable?

Yes. Tickets are refundable or transferable to another class up to seven days before an event. Tickets are transferable to another student for the same class at any time. Within seven days of the event, we do not offer refunds or class credits.
